As part of the Digital Performance Center at Airbus, the Industrial System Engineer will contribute to the industrial strategy by defining and deploying discrete event simulation (DES) models for early trade-off analysis and production optimization. This role supports Airbus manufacturing processes and future factory systems through simulation, data wrangling, and improved ways of working (WoW).

Key Deliverables:

• Develop and standardize discrete event simulation models for current and future manufacturing lines/plants/FALs (Final Assembly Lines).
• Define and improve production processes and WoW.
• Collaborate with industrial engineers on DES models to balance production, understand material flows, and optimize throughput.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain DES models using tools like Plant Simulation or AnyLogic.
• Define Airbus standards and WoW for simulations.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer solutions.
• Support projects in coordination with simulation architects for measurable performance outcomes.
• Gather and wrangle production data for modeling.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• Experience in project management and working with cross-functional/multicultural teams
• Familiarity with industrialization principles, production management, and manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (VSM, etc.) and Six Sigma
• Experience with DES modeling tools like Plant Simulation, AnyLogic
• Programming knowledge in SimTalk, Java, Python (generic understanding preferred)
• Data analytics skills are a plus
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and influencing abilities
